We are a church that believes God has called us to change our city and change our world. We do this through the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the hope for the world. We love Wilmington and we want to see this city and the world look more like heaven—“on earth as it is in heaven.” We will give our all to see Jesus’ kingdom here no matter the cost.
The story of The Bridge Church began back in 2013 at The Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham, NC. The Summit Church, led by Pastor J.D. Greear, has a vision to plant 1,000 churches within the next generation. The Bridge Church was birthed out of that vision.

We want to see heaven come down to earth and change our city and change the world. We do everything through the lens of this simple mantra: “For Christ, For Community, and For the City,” and we get a front-row seat to watch God changing our city. Jesus is alive. Jesus is on the move, and we get to be a part of his mission.

Our church is Jesus-ruled, Elder-led, and Congregationally-accountable. Jesus is the ultimate leader of the church. Under his leadership, he appoints human leaders who are called to lovingly, sacrificially, and boldly lead his church to become everything it should become. Our church loves its leaders, and our leaders love the church.
