What our vision is.

We believe in order to be a church that exists for our city, there are five initiatives we must pursue.

Next Generation

We are fortunate to live in a university town. Upwards of 50,000 college students reside in our area due to the presence of the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) and Cape Fear Community College (CFCC). We believe God has positioned our church in this city to have a significant impact on the next generation, specifically through college students. We will be a church that reaches college students and raises them up to be members in the church and missionaries in the city.

Multiethnic Church

We live in a beautifully diverse city filled with various ethnic groups. We believe all people of all ethnicities reflect the image of God and display his glorious nature (Ephesians 3:1-10). We believe God has called us to be a multiethnic church that reflects the multiethnic city where God has placed us. We will be a church that is multiethnic in culture, congregation, and leadership.

Underprivileged Youth

We live in a city where many youth grow up in underprivileged situations. Our county has one of the highest rates of fatherlessness in our state. Many youth struggle to find adequate care. Shelter is a struggle. Nourishment is a struggle. Education is a struggle. Broken homes, as well as broken systems, impact the health of our youth. We will be a church that engages in loving and serving underprivileged youth.

Persons in Need

We live in a city with a significant amount of persons in need who face issues of homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental health, incarceration, reentry, and lack of employment. We believe these need pose an opportunity for the church to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are in need. We will be a church that engages in loving and serving persons in need.

Church Planting

We believe there is a great opportunity for church planting in our city and around the world. We believe church planting is the single greatest tool for accomplishing the great commission. We never want to get to a point where we are not participating in the multiplication and replication of new churches. We will be a church that plants and partners with new gospel-centered, multiethnic church in our city and cities around the world.
